The Artevia System

Each pillar of the Artevia Architectural Concrete System is created to ensure every project is executed to its full potential

The Lafarge Artevia System was created in response to the desires of home owners, developers, designers, and contractors. The System is built upon 4 pillars of success: the Product, Design, Application, and Maintenance. To ensure the success of the System, Lafarge is training and developing "Authorized Contractors", and creating strategic alliances with key industry stakeholders.

The Niagara Falls Home Show

The Niagara Falls home show was one of several that the Hamilton team participated in this spring. In order to gage the success of these home shows a coupon was handed to potential buyers which would give them a 10% discount on any work completed in 2012. This was done in conjunction with our Artevia contractors who also gave 10% on their installation cost. Approx 120 coupons were handed out and we will base the success of the show on the number of coupons redeemed.

The success continues with Artevia in the Maritimes

This past weekend the Atlantic team had another very successful home show weekend at the Greater Fredericton Home Show. Similar to the Moncton show two weeks ago, there was a great turnout with a very high level of interest towards the new Artevia program.

The Lafarge local area's participate in home shows like these every year, which help to spread awareness and educate consumers about their innovative, new products. It is not until "you get in an atmosphere like this (a home show), where you realize the lack of knowledge within the general public when it comes to decorative concrete in Atlantic Canada", reports Eric Bender, the area product specialist.

Accompanying Eric Bender and Eric Demos, the Fredericton Plant Manager in the booth, was two of the Atlantic area Authorized Contractors: Jason Caissie from Global Curbs and Marc Daigle from Daigles Custom Curbing. Through the Lafarge Applicator Training, these two curbing companies have been able to expand into flatwork. Both Jason and Marc did an excellent job at engaging the audience and sparking interest for decorative concrete work. They speak proudly of their association with Lafarge and the partnership they have developed through the Authorized Contractor Network.

In total, the Artevia booth had over 800 people sign up for their draw for a free patio / walkway and 190 people sign up to be contacted by an Authorized Contractor for a free estimate!

Lafarge participates in the Landscape Architects of Quebec annual trade show

Over the last weekend of March, the annual Landscape Architects of Quebec held their annual trade show at the Espace Dalhousie location in old Quebec City. As a supplier and partner, Lafarge occupied a booth in the show to promote the new Artevia Architectural System to the landscape crowd.

The Quebec industry was incredibly receptive to the Artevia Collection Sample Case on display, with 8 major firms requesting Lunch and Learns from our sales team. The GMA Ready Mix team sees great value in continuing to have a presence at this show in the future.

The OntarioAssociation of Landscape Architects: Concrete Hardscape Seminar

Continuing Education, March 2012

The Ontario Association of Landscape Architects offer Continuing Education seminars year round for their members. In support of our developing partnership with the OALA, Lafarge Eastern Canada offered to host a seminar on "Concrete Hardscape Design" for their Members.

Held at the Lafarge Technical Centre in Toronot, Ontario, 17 OALA members gathered for a half day agenda on concrete, beginning with a brief concrete 101 crash course as a warm up, familiarizing the landscape architects with basic concrete topics.

A live demonstration of Artevia concluded the day, giving members a first hand look at batching, testing and placement techniques of this unique concrete product.

Due to high demand, 2 more seminars have been added to the schedule this Friday, April 5th. For more information on the OALA, visit their website at: http://www.oala.ca/
