North Bay, Ontario
Lafarge Eastern Canada's most recent Authorized Contractor Placer Day was held last week in North Bay, Ontario. An experienced decorative contractor from the area helped direct the training; a company who recently begun working with Lafarge and enjoyed great success after partnering at several home shows this spring.
"He has applied his knowledge to the new Artevia line of Architectural Concrete to increase exposure in the North Bay area. The Contractor [Joe Marshall] in conjunction with Lafarge has completed both Artevia Print and Artevia Exposed driveways together in some very high profile jobs within North Bay and the surrounding area. Joe is continuing to expand his capabilities with the help of Lafarge."
- Darren Wright, Artevia Product Specialist, Northern Ontario.
Last weekend, the Georgetown Ready Mix plant held an Artevia demo day. Plant Manager, Mike Capizzo, invited contractors in the area to the plant for a demo on Artevia Exposed and Artevia Print.
Contractors from 4 different companies came ready to learn, with a few extra contractors who were in the neighborhood and intrigued by the event. The day was a great learning experience for all, leaving the contractors better educated on the best practices of decorative concrete. Mike Girard, the Product Specialist for the Hamilton Niagara Area, even shared a few of his own trademark placement and finishing techniques.
The contractors were incredibly appreciative of Lafarge for putting on such an informative day and left with marketing materials to carry on this information and share with their customers.

The first Atlantic Canada Artevia Applicator launch and training was held in Saint John, NB. Over 20 contractors from the local area attended, coming from 8 different companies. Representatives from Grace, Interstar, and Hewitt Cat Rentals were all present as well for the two day event. Tim Hickey of Premium Pools and Spas was the Applicator Trainer, sharing his vast decorative concrete knowledge and experience.
Over the 2 day seminar, the major topics overviewed, included the growing Artevia product line, new promotional plans, introducing accessories, and the complete installation of Artevia. In addition, attendees were given the chance to participate in hands on training - each contractor poured and finished their own 6'x6' sample Artevia pad, that are now on product display.
All of the participants are now Chartered Members of our Artevia Authorized Contractor Network and are trained to successfully install the Exposed and Sand product line.
